Electrical Engineer with E-plan experience

Ballard Power Systems is the leading provider of innovative clean energy and fuel cell solutions with a European HQ in Hobro. At Ballard Europe we are looking for a solution-oriented and hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our Technology and Product Development department.

As our new Electrical Engineer, you will make design, documentation and electrical constructions within switchgear control cabinets and fuel cell application productions in accordance with project requirement and with a primary focus on electrical parts (AC/DC power circuits, motors, PLCs, contactors, relays etc.). You will support the electrical part of development in projects from design to release to production while simultaneously coordinate with other fields of inhouse engineering.

You will become a part of a team consisting of 5 dedicated colleagues, who report to our Team Lead for Electronics Hardware.

Your key responsibilities are within the following areas:

  • Electrical documentation and electrical design for electrical cabinets and prototype systems including design and dimensioning, BOM, Toplevel drawings, detailed drawings, wire harness.
  • Participate in debugging, improvement and maintenance of release products as well as defining product requirements and main specifications.
  • Effectively implement the requirements and impact of relevant National, European and International standards of electrical system design (Safety, EMC etc.)
  • Understand tests and acceptance criteria for electrical systems and key components relevant to the design to ensure effective solutions.
  • Electrical testing/trouble shooting of electrical systems and various subcomponents including report writing on the findings.

Who are you?

Your educational background could be within electrical engineering, automation technician, process technician, marine engineering or similar relevant background. You have worked with E-Plan P8 at least 2 years on a construction project level, and in general you have 3-5 years of relevant experience within electrical control, panel construction, design, assembly, test electrical documentation or similar.

In addition, you have previous experience with electrical prototyping/assembly and commissioning of electrical systems as well as fault finding at panel- and system level.

We further envisaged that you have worked with documentation in your previous job, and it comes natural to you to ensure a well-documented and structured work method.  It is considered an advantage if you have experience with PLC Programing, electrical directives and standards, such as LVD, MD, EMC etc., as well as knowledge within the field of mechanical or electro-mechanical.
